Charles Hallette Judson (1820-1898), a leading Baptist educator, came to South Carolina in 1857 as a professor of mathematics and mechanics at Furman University. During the Civil War he also took responsibility for the Greenville Female College (see A Card Advertising "The Greenville Baptist Female College"). He served as a treasurer of the Baptist State Convention in South Carolina. From the Baptist Historical Collection.
