Santee State Park | Destination: SC Parks

Santee State Park is home to Lake Marion. Fishing, kayaking and canoeing are popular activities. There are also tours to learn about the wildlife.

This area being wetlands hosts quite a few wildlife like wood ducks, gators, turtles, and egrets. Also red-cockaded woodpecker, fox squirrels, and deer reside inside the park. The red-cockaded woodpecker is an endangered species so a designated area has been established for protection. 

History about other species and the Santee State park can be found inside the park's nature center.
