Lake Greenwood State Recreation Area has a 11,400 acre lake. It's about 22 miles long, has 212 miles of shoreline. It's a popular destination for boating, recreational activities like skiing, people bringing their personal watercrafts, a lot of canoes and kayaks on the lake as well.
The Drummond Center was opened up in January of 2003, but it has a lot of history behind it. The Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) drew up the building and had plans for it in 1942. Unfortunately, World War II broke out, and they were never able to build this building, but it was built in the exact location and footprint that the CCC wanted to build. There are two ranger residences that were completed by the CCC.
