Calhoun Falls State Recreation Area | Destination: SC Parks

Calhoun Falls State Recreation Area is located in Abbeville County. This area is near Lake Russell, which is a unique lake in South Carolina, in that it is a Corps property with a border around it. The Corps owns a 300-foot buffer all the way around this lake, so there's no private development on this lake. This area has great seclusion for camping.  The area includes a swimming beach which is a little different than what is found in other parks.
