Born in Ridge Spring and living most of her life in the Aiken area, Idella Bodie, who holds a degree in English from Columbia College, has been writing for young readers for more than thirty years. Her first book, The Secret of the Telfair Inn, published in 1971 by Sandlapper Publishing, is still in print. She has written 22 children’s books and taught high school English and Creative Writing for 31 years.
