Prosperity for South Carolina

Lesson Overview

In this series of learning experiences, students will gather information from primary source documents and media in order to develop an understanding of how early South Carolinians used their natural, human and political resources to gain economic prosperity. Students will explore and gather evidence in order to explain how the cultivation of rice and indigo, and the connections with the people of Barbados and West Africa produced economic success for South Carolina.
