Pablo Picasso was born on October 25, 1881 in Malaga, Spain. He was a brilliant art student and the son of a drawing and art teacher. His family moved to Barcelona, and Picasso studied there at La Lonja, the academy of fine arts. In 1900, Picasso exhibited his work in Barcelona and then settled in Paris in 1904.
He was always striving to find new means of expression through his art, so his style developed from the Blue Period (1901-1904) to the Rose Period (1905) and then, with Georges Braque, to the evolution of cubism in 1907. Pablo Picasso is said to have set the tone for modern art in the 20th century.
