Born and raised in South Carolina, Ms. Rizer taught school for twenty-five years and raised two sons. Her first Callie Parrish book was written after she retired from teaching. Book number six was released in December 2013. Her first thriller, entitled Kudzu River, will be released by early 2015. In her interview, she discusses the creation of sub-plots that are relevant to the story. And, she bestows tips relating to red herrings, voice, scene selection, and writing in the first person.
