Tucson, Arizona is a popular place for astronomers. The old dome on top of Mission St. Javier church, is just one of many domes erected in the Tucson area. Dozens of universities and research institutions have set up telescopes here.  The mountains around Tucson boast more telescopes here, than in any other part of the world. Astronomers from all over the world come here for research and observing runs.
