The South Carolina State Farmers Market started out on Assembly Street in Columbia. Then, in the early 1950's it moved to Bluff Road next to Williams Brice stadium where it operated for a number of years. That market closed in October of 2010 when the new market opened up in Lexington County on Charleston Highway. With a new location and amenities for the public, the State Farmers Market is more than just a place to pick up fresh fruits and veggies.
