Kaltura
Ecology Laboratory Research Site: This area is a mixed hardwood forest, with Spanish moss dangling from the branches. Water oaks are the most prominent trees here. Other common plants in the area are Red Bud trees, Dwarf Red Buckeye, Black cherry trees, and on one of the branches of a Black cherry tree, Rudy and Jim find an egg mass of tent caterpillars, and a Red-Spotted purple caterpillar.
Wild Petunia flowers thrive in higher moisture environments like this one, and close by, Rudy and Jim point out a White Tail dragonfly, and a Yellow-Bellied turtle shell.
