Rudy and Jim visit Sandy Island, off the South Carolina coast, near Georgetown. Sandy Island is the largest undeveloped fresh water island on the East coast, consisting mainly of sand dunes, and marshy pools of water.
At their first stop, we see wild rice, scrubby live oak trees and sand oak trees. Sand live oaks provide shelter for wasps, who lay eggs in the trees, forming the distinguishable abnormal growth on these trees.
