Primitive Tools, Part 6: Animal Skins
This series features primitive life experts who participated in a primitive week celebration, which was coordinated by Tom Mancke and held at Hammond School in Columbia, South Carolina. The programs tell the story of how primitive people used the materials found in nature to create such useful things as musical instruments and cordage, as well as needed tools to assist with day-to-day life.
Standards
- 6-1 The student will demonstrate an understanding of the development of the cradles of civilization as people moved from a nomadic existence to a settled life.
- This indicator was developed to promote inquiry into turning points in the organization and transformation of the four major classical civilizations in China, Greece, India, and Rome. This indicator was also developed to foster inquiry into the cultural and technological advancements of the classical civilizations that continue to influence modern societies.
