Victoria Bluff gets its name due to the sharp drop down to the shoreline, where at high tide, the Colleton River slowly continues to erode away the edge.
Evidence of life is found within the bluffs. Hollow tubes of sand are carved out by ghost shrimp, which sift organic material out from the sand.
The soft marsh soil makes conditions difficult for taller trees to live, and we see evidence of this due to the amount of trees which have fallen over. Some plants are better suited for this environment, such as spartina grass. The area is rich for history and natural history. Rudy and Jim find a piece of Native American pottery washed up on the shore!
