Georgia O'Keeffe: A Woman On Paper | Carolina Stories - Episode 4

Georgia O’Keeffe’s career was flourishing, but was facing troubles in her personal life, and needed space. O’Keeffe moved to New Mexico, which would be her home for the rest of her life. In New Mexico, O’Keeffe felt more free than she ever had before, and New Mexico is the subject of some of her most famous landscape paintings.

Near the end of her life, O’Keeffe continues to paint watercolors, despite her diminishing eyesight. Many of the drawings she did in South Carolina remained hidden until after her death. O’Keeffe’s works are among the hallmarks of American modern painting which we know today.
