Freddie Vanderford's passion for music started at an early age when he befriended legendary blues harmonica player Peg Leg Sam at the age of 16. Vanderford's talent and enthusiasm for music has earned him many recognitions and awards including the 2010 Folk Heritage Award in which he was awarded for "maintaining and sharing the tradition of Piedmont Blues Harp."
