Andy Fairey, Chief Operating Officer of the Charleston Water System, discusses Charleston’s water sector, and the effects of climate change on the water systems. Charleston’s aging infrastructure is affecting the quality and quantity of its water. Reinforcing the infrastructure, and emergency preparedness are crucial challenges for Charleston’s water industry. Fairey proposes to plan for the future, and to look for ways to make the water industry more efficient, improving both drinking water, and waste water systems in Charleston.
