Bruce Zhi Gao, Ph.D explains biochips. A biochip is very close to a computer chip but they put it in a cell culture dish to make it very clean to culture a cell. The chip is made of silicone which is very close to glass. After they build the chip it is moved to the Cell Biology Lab. There, they harvest cells and use a laser beam to grab the cell and put into the chip into a specific location to mimic the actual tissue in the human body. Cells are grown in an incubator to see if they behave like a cell in the body.
