Kevin Mills, President and CEO of the South Carolina Aquarium, kicks off this panel on “Climate Change: A Global Reality”, by briefly discussing the aquarium’s conservation efforts to combat global warming, and introduces the first speaker of the panel, which is Dr. Jeffrey L. Payne, the director for the NOAA (National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration) office of coastal management, in Charleston. Dr. Payne joins to discuss the Sea Level Rise Adaptation Report, and how humanity needs to adapt to the earth’s rising water levels, and take measures for the survival of coastal communities.
