13. A Threat to the Forest

Logging is probably the greatest threat to cove forests. Some areas are relatively undisturbed due to their remoteness and rugged terrain. Today, these forests are threatened by improved road-building techniques and logging by huge helicopters. As a results, cove forests that were once inaccessible are now vulnerable to logging.
