Etching is the process of using a strong acid to create designs in metal.Boyd Saunders is a painter, illustrator, printmaker and Distinguished Professor Emeritus of Art. He was born on a farm in Tennessee and his work reflects a lifelong interest in storytelling and depictions of animals, especially horses. He has exhibited all over the world, from Argentina to China and has won many awards. His limited edition of William Faulkner’s short story “Spotted Horses,” with the complete text and thirty-four original lithograph prints, was published by the University of South Carolina Press.
