Leslie is the wife of Allen McDonald, who runs the gin; Stuart (known as “Mr. Gibb”) is a retired local farmer who works part-time at the gin. The gin has been in the McDonald family since the 1940s. While they farm tobacco, soybeans, and some grains, cotton is their main crop. Interview conducted by Polly Adema.
