Marie Manigault

Basketmaker from Mt. Pleasant, SC (Charleston County). Manigault hailed from one South Carolina's most prolific basketmaking families. The Manigault's have been making sweetgrass baskets for generations. One end of Hamllin Beach is known as "Manigault Corner" and at one time consisted of over a dozen households and over sixty people.
