Wayne Wilson is the son of Hallie A. Wilson, who was trained in the pottery shop of Maryland Hewell and in the nearby Holcomb Pottery.
In the 1950s, Hallie set up his own pottery shop in Lula, Georgia and in 1975 turned its operation over to his sons - Jimmy, Jackie, Ricky, and Wayne.
In 1981, like the wares produced by the Hewells and Cravens in nearby Gillsville, the Wilson Pottery’s ceramic line focused soley on the production of unglazed, hand-turned garden wares.
