Writer and women's rights advocate Gloria Steinem helped found the magazine Ms., the first national women's magazine run by women.
As an advocate, she organized political campaigns and rallies in support of women's rights and human rights in general.
Gloria continues to work for equal rights. She has said, "Without leaps of imagination, or dreaming, we lose the excitement of possibilities. Dreaming, after all, is a form of planning."
