Comamos is the Spanish word for "let's eat." And what we eat tells people a lot about who we are. Food is a way of life, and the foods we eat reveal our heritage, where we live, and our beliefs.
You may be surprised at how many of the things we eat come from the Hispanic countries of the world. Spanish explorers of the 1400s obtained new kinds of food by trading with Native Americans. When they returned to Spain, the Spanish farmed and traded their new fruits and vegetables. Soon the rest of the world was eating them too!
