Quilting

Ms. Audrey Liddle is a shop owner and quilter in Lexington County. She learned the art of making quilts from her grandmother in Pennsylvania. She started when she was just six years old and when she moved to South Carolina in the late 1950s she was already proficient in the art.

She enjoys working with ally types of fabrics and teaches classes at her quilt shop. She has been teaching at her shop for five years, though she has been teaching outside of work for many years prior. She gives regular demonstrations at local schools, libraries, and events. Local schools have even had her demonstrate for geometry classes, showing children how geometry can apply in real-life situations.

Ms. Liddle has participated in the Quilts of Valor program, making quilts for wounded and stationed soldiers. She is also a member of the Threads of Time Quilt Guild, whose members make quilts for children who have been through traumatic situations or are in foster care.
