Lesson Overview
As a start for our research unit, students partner up and choose a different genocide to research. It also serves as cross curriculum effort with Geography classes. The vast sample of events students can choose from helps students become more culturally aware of the harm inflicted around the world from hateful ideology. It serves in the capacity to help end or stop from repeating these atrocities.
Essential Question
What is Genocide? What are crimes against humanity? What are the lasting legacies of these events? Is research more about discovering answers or asking questions?
What are the keys to research and guiding inquiry?
What are the keys to a communicating successfully during a presentation?
What is genocide or a crime against humanity?

Will need to either have internet access or books/printed articles where students can access information related to the genocide they are presenting.
