Modeling is an additive process. The artist builds up a soft, flexible material such as wax or clay, piece by piece. Both wax and clay may be used to make a mold for casting.
Begin To Add Features
Draw the wooden modeling tool, called a spatula, across the face to show where the eyes, nose, and mouth will go.

Finishing Details
To create the details of the features drag the wire-end modeling tool over the head. Now your clay head is ready to become a mold for casting.
