Doug McMillan

Mr. Doug McMillian was born in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. He moved to South Carolina in the late 1970's and is a bluegrass and country musician who plays the guitar and upright bass. Mr. McMillan has been playing music for over forty years and learned to play music wherever he could, though he learned the most from his father and from his friends and roommates in college. He never had any formal lessons but watched as chords were played and practiced them himself. Mr. McMillan enjoys playing and performing both solo and with other musicians and has taught many students how to play the guitar and upright bass since 1969. He performs at the Belton Depot in Anderson, South Carolina on Friday and Saturday nights, and has appeared at several local festivals as well as the Princeton Café.
