Seamstress/Catfish Dressing

Ms. Debbie Evans was born and raised in South Carolina. She is a registered nurse by profession, though she has two unique hobbies which she enjoys sharing with friends and the community: dressing catfish and being a seamstress. When Debbie was about ten years old, she watched as her father and grandfather dressed catfish and her mother and grandmother made clothing and she became proficient in both activities. She uses knives and pliers to clean and dress catfish and cloth and sewing material for making clothes. She has taught catfish dressing to a friend at her home and to the community at the Anderson County Library.
