Charlotte Berry of Columbia is the recipient of the 2018 David H. Wilkins Award for Excellence in Civic Leadership. The award is presented by The Riley Institute at Furman University.
“Each person in his or her own right has an opportunity to make a difference. Making a difference in this world is what it’s all about,” says Berry.
As the National Chair of Volunteers for the American Red Cross, a founding member of Women in Philanthropy, and through service on numerous boards of community organizations, Berry has championed the displaced, disenfranchised, and disaffected. Berry believes strongly in the importance and efficacy of collaboration, and she has spent a lifetime working with others in service to her community.
