Barn owls are medium-sized owls that are found throughout the world.  They have an average wingspan of 30 inches, and they feast on small rodents and birds. They are also known to eat bats, frogs, fish and insects. These owls are nocturnal and hunt more by sound than by sight. Their ears play an important role in the functioning of this owl.
