Tradition: The Cherokee Language

Children in Snowbird schools learn the Cherokee language at a young age. They, in turn, may teach a future generation of students the language. In the early part of the century, the Snowbird Cherokee and many other tribes were forbidden to speak their own language. Now, their language is seen as an important part of what makes their culture special.
